The Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 has an advanced tool to clean and optimize image files stored in JPG Format (*.jpg) without any loss of image quality. The Lossless JPG Cleaner tool can be found in the applications Tools menu. (Shortcut keys: Shift + 7)

 

 

Add files (Step1)

General Options

 

· Add Files: Add/Remove files to/from the list of files that should be sent.

 

· Move Up/Down: is used to select in which order files should be processed.

 

· Remove selected: Removes the all selected files from the processing list.

 

· Remove all: Clears the list completely.

Processing options

 

· Optimize Encoding: This will decrease the image file size by a small amount (typically 5-10% of the original file size).

 

· Remove all APP-Markers: This will remove ANY additional information (e.g.: EXIF including thumbnails) stored in the JPG file except the image.

 

· Drop non-transformable edge blocks: This will remove hidden image data that can neither be processed nor is visible.

 

· Convert to Grayscale: This will convert your .jpg file to grayscale containing 256 colors.

 

· Change to Progressive Decoding: If enabled, the JPG file will become progressively encoded. If disabled, the JPG file will become baseline encoded.

Note: When enabled, all other processing options will be disabled, as changing the progressive decoding state is an exclusive operation.

Note: The JPG Cleaner does work on JPG files (*.jpg) without modifying the image quality! Hint: When working in Browser Mode: Select items in the Content View or the Playlist Window before you open the Lossless JPG Cleaner tool to have it work on the selected items!
