Scanning an image from any TWAIN compatible device
Photo Commander trenner Import / Scan

The Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 can acquire images from any device that supports the common TWAIN interface. Most scanners, digital cameras and webcams support this interface and can be used without problems. To start click on Scan Photo or Import Photos command from the applications File menu.

The Scan Dialog

A dialog window similar to the one shown above with list all TWAIN compatible devices available on your system will appear. Select the device you want to acquire an image from and press the choose button. Afterwards another device specific dialog window will appear allowing you to set specific options and/or commands. However those can not be shown here, as the appearance and functionality depends on the device you are acquiring from and is beyond the scope of the Ashampoo Photo Commander 10.

Import Photos

If you want to import pictures (e.g. from a digital camera) Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 offers the perfect way to do it. Just enter the file menu and choose the Import / Scan button. A menu appears which offers some useful features for a problem-free import.

With the import tool you can select and import pictures directly from your digital camera or a scanner. The photo from camera tool also enables the automatic rotation of photos, if the digital camera provides this information.

1 Choose a source (e.g. a digital camera or a card reader) to import from.

2 Select the destination folder at your system.

3 Do you want to create a subfolder of the destination folder to keep track of your pictures? Click here to create a new folder with a significant title!

4 Digital cameras sometimes tend to label pictures rather cryptically. The Rename Files function offers the opportunity to solve this problem. Click on the dropdown list and choose the right option. Type in the new name and Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 will rename and number it consecutively.

5 The pictures at the cam are usually dispensable after the import process. They just waste precious disk space, don’t they?  If you want the picture to remain at the cam please remove the mark of this checkbox!
